Dublin, May 29, 2023. Irish nurses were received today by the Cuban ambassador to Ireland, Bernardo Guanche Hernández, who expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Cuban people. The professionals visited Cuba at the end of April taking with them medical supplies intended to save lives and support health institutions on the island.
In Havana, Patricia Campbell, Maureen Campbell Loney and Lorraine Hodgins, exchanged with nurses from the National Institute of Oncology and Radiobiology. They also witnessed the serious impact on the Cuban health system of the criminal US blockade against Cuba.
Irish nurses highlighted the resilience of Cubans and their joy, despite the blockade.
The warm meeting at the Cuban embassy was characterized by the brotherhood and solidarity that exist between the peoples of both Islands.
